The dst reads out the current environment temperature via software and thus allows for the watching of temperatures of servers and serversystems inside and outside of network cabinets.

Like wise the climatisation of a server room is controlled constantly.

Via a one-to-one extension the placement on nearly every desired location is possible.

Why at the parralel port?

The dst was developed for applications in the field of servers and above all concipated  for the usage on LINUX-systems. Since here, like also on other server systems other interface,s are omitted from the outset due to cost- and stability questions and the printers are operated via a print server the parralel port is besides the serial ports the best connection for a temperature sensor.
